Campus Connect ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Campus Connect mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, student/faculty ID, and role (student, faculty, or admin) as provided by your institution.
• Academic Data: Attendance records, course enrollments, grades, and schedule information synced from your institution's systems.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for push notification delivery.
• Usage Data: App interaction data such as screens viewed and features used, collected to improve the user experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the App's functionality
• To deliver push notifications about attendance, announcements, and academic updates
• To display your academic records, schedules, and course information
• To authenticate your identity and manage access control
• To improve and optimize the App's performance
• To display occasional, non-intrusive advertisements

3. Advertisements

Our App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits and general interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. The frequency of ads in our App is intentionally kept very low to minimize disruption to your academic activities.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

• With your institution: Academic and attendance data is shared with your educational institution as part of the App's core functionality.
• Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for push notifications and analytics, operating under Google's privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on institutional servers and Firebase cloud services. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App's services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Academic records are retained according to your institution's data retention policies. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting your institution's administration.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is designed for college and university students and staff (ages 18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
