Issue Description
Sub: Laptop repair request - Shutdown Issue
Dear Muzammil,
I checked the laptop and the issue is still not fixed. It does not shut down properly and the LED lights stay on, so the battery keeps draining.
Kulzum also checked it and confirmed the problem. I’ve handed the laptop over to him.
Please resolve this.

I spoke with the vendor regarding the laptop issue. Findings:When the laptop was first submitted, it was in a powered-off state. Upon lab diagnosis, the vendor found the SMSC IC was shorted and faulty. Due to this, the laptop was not shutting down and the LEC screen remained on.This issue was also confirmed by Sir Mirbaz. Because the laptop wasn't shutting down, the battery was continuously draining, leading to shutdown due to no charge.Current Status: The vendor has worked on the SMSC IC and the laptop is now shutting down properly. However, the power button light on issue remains even after shutdown. Root Cause: Per the vendor, this is due to the Controller IC. One pin is bypassing current to the power button light.Vendor Recommendations:Option 1: Leave it as is. Attempting to repair the Controller IC carries a high risk of the laptop becoming completely dead.Option 2: Disconnect the power button light. Downside: The button light will not work when turning the laptop on.Request: Please advise on the next steps. Should we proceed with Option 1, Option 2, or attempt Controller IC replacement despite the risk?
